About Jo Bristow and Ikigai Printmaking

Jo is a practicing printmaker living and working in East Cornwall. She delivers printmaking workshops from her studio on a farm in Cornwall. The studio is surrounded by beautiful un-spoilt countryside and just ten minutes from the sea.

Workshops are for everyone of all abilities and you do not need to have experience. Jo's approach understands that focusing on the present moment whilst using our hands, plays a big role in our overall health.

"Learning a skill with printmaking is rewarding, and many people are hooked straight out of the gate. Focusing on a creative process helps us to reduce stress and promote positive emotions. Becoming hung up on whether you can draw or comparing yourself to others is one of the main barriers to enjoyable creativity".

Ikigai Printmaking

Jo founded Ikigai Printmaking in 2019 to supply good quality tools and materials for printmakers.

From her studio shop in Alma Yard, Plymouth, Jo began teaching printmaking workshops and supplying students with printmaking materials.

With rising overheads post Covid pandemic, Jo moved the shop from Alma Yard, Plymouth back to Cornwall and continues to supply printmakers via online delivery. Jo continues to source good materials to help her students and is generous to share money saving advice when selecting the materials for a project. You can link in via her Patreon here.
